Clear answers about what HPL is, how access works, and where the medical boundaries are.
What the program is, who it's built for, and how it differs from generic wellness advice.
Human Performance Labs is an online educational coaching program built around functional wellness education. It is designed for people dealing with chronic fatigue, brain fog, and low energy who have been told their labs are normal.
The program is not a medical service. We are not a clinic. We do not diagnose or treat anything. We educate — explaining what the research says about diet, sleep, movement, and supplementation as it relates to the most common patterns behind fatigue and brain fog.
This program was designed for one specific type of person:
If that isn't you, this probably isn't the right program.
Most wellness programs offer generic advice — eat better, sleep more, reduce stress. That advice is not wrong; it just isn't matched to your specific pattern. What makes HPL different:
The protocol adjustments — dietary changes, sleep adjustments, supplementation — are woven into your existing daily routine, not added on top of it. The goal is to do the right things instead of the wrong ones, not necessarily more things.
Actively engaging with the program — watching curriculum modules, using the HPL Coach, checking the community — takes roughly 30–60 minutes per week. The community is optional and does not affect your educational path if you skip it.
Entirely self-paced. There are no live sessions, no scheduled calls, and no deadlines. You work through the curriculum on your own schedule and use the HPL Coach whenever you have questions. The community runs on its own rhythm — check in when it's useful, skip it when it isn't.
Each track has a recommended sequence — certain adjustments are most effective when implemented in a specific order — but you control the pace.
What this program is, what it isn't, and how it relates to your existing healthcare.
No. Human Performance Labs is an educational program. Nothing in this program — including the intake questionnaire, the curriculum, the track content, the HPL Coach, or any communication from HPL — constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
We teach you what the research says about lifestyle factors associated with energy and cognitive performance. You decide what to do with that information. We strongly encourage you to work with a qualified healthcare provider alongside this program — not instead of one.
Dr. Coby Hanes DC serves as an educational content advisor. He is IFM-Certified (Institute for Functional Medicine) and certified in the Bredesen ReCODE Protocol, with decades of clinical experience in functional wellness.
His role is strictly advisory — he reviews educational content for accuracy and clinical soundness. Enrolling in this program does not establish a doctor-patient or practitioner-client relationship with Dr. Hanes. He is not your doctor. He does not review individual member intake data. He does not make recommendations specific to your health situation.
The correct framing: Dr. Hanes has helped ensure the educational content reflects credible functional wellness research. What you do with that educational content is your decision. See Dr. Hanes' full credentials →
No. The HPL Coach is an AI-powered educational tool trained on the program content and the research behind each track. It explains the curriculum, answers questions about your protocol, and helps troubleshoot implementation questions.
It does not diagnose conditions, interpret your personal health data, or give recommendations outside the scope of the educational program. If you ask questions that fall into medical advice territory, it will direct you to a qualified healthcare provider.
Yes — and we encourage it. This program is designed to complement your existing healthcare, not replace it. Nothing in the curriculum requires you to stop any prescribed medication or treatment.
Many members find the educational content helps them have more informed conversations with their existing providers. If you have a diagnosed condition or are under the care of a specialist, let them know you're following an educational wellness program and share any relevant protocol elements with them.
No. Please continue working with your healthcare provider. This program is not a replacement for medical care — it is an educational resource that works alongside it.
If your symptoms are severe, have changed suddenly, or you have a diagnosed condition requiring medical management, that takes priority over any educational wellness program. When in doubt, see your doctor.
How the intake questionnaire works, what the four tracks cover, and what to do if your situation changes.
When you join, you complete an intake questionnaire — a structured set of questions about your symptoms, lifestyle patterns, and health history. It takes about 15 minutes. Your answers map automatically to one of four educational tracks based on the pattern they suggest.
You'll see which track you matched to and a plain-language explanation of why your answers pointed there. You do not need to come in with a diagnosis or even a hypothesis about what's wrong.
No. The intake questionnaire works from your symptoms and lifestyle patterns — not your lab results. You do not need to provide bloodwork to be matched to a track or to follow the curriculum.
That said, if you have recent bloodwork, the educational content can help you understand what your numbers may mean from a functional wellness perspective — including why values within the standard reference range may still be worth discussing with your provider.
You can retake the intake questionnaire at any time. If your symptom pattern has shifted, or if the original matching doesn't feel accurate, a new intake will re-match you to the most appropriate educational track.
Many people have overlapping patterns. If your symptoms genuinely span two tracks, the General Optimization track covers the foundational work that underlies all four — and is often the right starting point regardless.
How the two access tiers work, what each costs, and what founding member pricing locks in.
Platform Access is the ongoing subscription layer that keeps you connected to HPL after your Track Course is complete — or as a standalone starting point if you want to explore before purchasing a course.
Platform Access includes:
Platform Access does not include Track Course video curriculum. That is purchased separately as a one-time Track Course.
A Track Course is a one-time purchase that gives you ongoing access to the full video curriculum for your matched educational track. Each track includes educational modules covering diet, sleep, movement, and supplementation — all specific to your track's pattern.
Every Track Course also includes three months of Platform Access at no additional charge. During those three months, you have the HPL Coach, community, and all platform resources included. After three months, continuing Platform Access is optional at the standard monthly rate.
Founding member pricing: $19/month
Public launch pricing will be higher. Founding members who maintain active access keep the $19/month rate as long as your subscription stays active.
No payment is collected at waitlist signup. Pricing only applies once enrollment opens.
Founding member pricing: $149 one-time
This includes:
After the included three months, Platform Access continues at $19/month if you choose to keep it. There is no obligation to continue.
Public launch pricing for Track Courses will be higher. Founding members lock in $149 as long as they purchase before launch.
Founding members are people who join before the program's public launch. The benefits:
If you cancel Platform Access and later resubscribe, the founding rate does not apply — you would rejoin at the current public price. The founding rate is held for members who maintain continuous access.
What the AI coaching tool does, how the community works, and whether either is required.
The HPL Coach is an AI-powered educational assistant trained on the HPL curriculum, the research behind each track, and the protocol content for your specific track. It is available 24/7 through your Platform Access.
Use it to understand why a track recommendation works, troubleshoot implementation challenges, clarify curriculum content, or get answers between module sessions. It is designed to support your educational experience — not to replace professional medical guidance.
The HPL community is a private accountability space organized by educational track. Members in the same track share what's working, ask questions, and support each other through implementation. It is not a general wellness forum — it stays focused on the educational content and course experience specific to your track.
Community access is included with Platform Access.
No. The community is entirely opt-in. Many members follow the curriculum and use the HPL Coach without ever engaging with the community. Your educational outcomes are not dependent on community participation.
Some members find the accountability valuable, particularly during the first few weeks of course implementation. Others prefer a more independent approach. Both work.
How billing works, what the refund policy is, and what happens if you cancel.
Yes. Cancel any time before your next billing date. No questions, no forms, no phone calls. Access continues through the end of the current billing period, then stops.
Track Course curriculum access is permanent — cancelling Platform Access does not remove access to a Track Course you've already purchased.
Track Courses include a 7-day refund window from the date of purchase. If you've started the curriculum and don't find it useful within the first seven days, contact us for a full refund.
After seven days, Track Course purchases are non-refundable — but you retain permanent curriculum access regardless.
Insurance does not cover this program. Human Performance Labs is an educational service, not a healthcare provider, and does not bill insurance companies.
HSA/FSA eligibility depends on your specific plan and how your plan administrator classifies wellness education programs. We recommend checking with your HSA/FSA provider directly — we cannot advise on individual plan eligibility.
The founding rate is held for members who maintain continuous active access. If you cancel Platform Access and later resubscribe, the founding rate does not apply — you would rejoin at the current public price in effect at that time.
Track Course founding pricing ($149) is a one-time purchase. Once purchased before launch, that course access continues at that price regardless of what happens to your Platform Access subscription.
What the intake collects, how it's used, and your options for data deletion.
The intake questionnaire collects information about your lifestyle patterns, symptom experiences, and health goals — for the sole purpose of matching you to the most appropriate educational track.
This is lifestyle and preference data, not a medical record. It is used to personalize your program experience. It is not shared with third parties, not sold, and not used for any purpose outside of delivering the program to you.
No. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. The information you provide is used exclusively to deliver the program, improve the educational content, and communicate with you about your subscription.
For complete details, see our Privacy Policy.
Yes. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at cole@humanperformancelabs.co. We process deletion requests within 30 days.
Note that deleting your account also cancels any active Platform Access subscription and removes access to all program content.
Human Performance Labs is an educational coaching program. It is not a medical practice, clinical service, diagnostic service, or substitute for professional healthcare.
